Hello everyone! I am so excited to announce that the first book in the “I Am” Series, I Am Good in My Heart, will be released next Wednesday, September 19th. In the mean time, please join my Facebook group here – I’ll be sharing members-only specials, promos, contests, etc. to celebrate the release!
It was so wonderful to collaborate with my sister, Sheri Moroe, to take this book from good to great. I’m so lucky to have her as my sister! Also special thanks to my illustrator, Maruf Hasan, who truly breathed life into my book with his brilliant illustrations and cover design.
I Am Good in My Heart is a feelings book for preschool age kids to help them understand and develop positive self-worth:
“It’s important for me to remember that I am good in my heart, all the time, every time! No matter what!
Even if I spill, break or mess things up I can clean it up! I’m still good in my heart – that’s me!”
Most psychology professionals agree that a child’s self-esteem set point is created during years one through eight. During these years, kids make a lot of mistakes and say or do things that are hurtful to others. Children often hear “good” or “bad” used to describe their behavior, but also often to describe them as a person, according to their behavior. If kids think they are bad instead of their behavior being undesirable, it can create lasting self-worth problems.
Let’s not make kids feel judged based on their worst day! This book is designed to help preschool age children understand that they are always good in their hearts, even when they make mistakes or do the wrong thing. It helps them understand that they can make a better choice the next time. In the end, when they remember that they are good and act in a way that reflects that, they are happier and so is everyone else!
